The Quantity Surveyor cum Billing Engineer is responsible for managing all aspects of the contractual and financial side of construction projects. This includes estimating costs, preparing bills of quantities, monitoring project budgets, and managing the billing process. The role requires a strong understanding of construction methods, materials, and legal regulations to ensure projects are completed within budget and billed accurately.

Job Description:

    1. Prepare detailed cost estimates for construction projects.
    2. Develop and manage project budgets, ensuring costs are controlled.
    3. Prepare bills of quantities by analyzing architectural and engineering drawings.
    4. Assist in the preparation of contract documents, including tenders and contracts.
    5. Evaluate and negotiate variations and claims
    6. Ensure compliance with contractual obligations.
    7. Prepare and submit client bills and invoices as per the agreed schedule.
    8. Certify subcontractor bills and ensure timely payments.
    9. Maintain accurate records of all financial transactions and project documentation.
    10. Conduct on-site measurements and valuations.
    11. Assess and certify the work completed by contractors.
    12. Prepare interim payment certificates and final accounts.
    13. Monitor project expenditures and identify potential cost-saving opportunities.
    14. Prepare regular financial reports, including cost-to-complete and budget vs. actual reports.
    15. Advise management on cost variations and financial risks.
    16. Liaise with clients, contractors, and other stakeholders to ensure smooth project execution.
    17. Coordinate with the project team to ensure accurate billing and cost management.
    18. Provide regular updates to the project manager and senior management on financial progress.

Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Quantity Surveying, Civil Engineering, or a related field.
  • Experience: 5 years of experience in quantity surveying, billing, or a related role in the construction industry.
