Job Brief:

  • Develop and implement procurement strategies and policies to support the company’s strategic goals and objectives, optimizing purchasing processes and ensuring cost-effectiveness, quality, and timely delivery of materials and services.
  • Lead and manage a team of procurement professionals, providing guidance, support, and training to ensure the effective execution of procurement activities and the achievement of departmental goals and targets.
  • Identify and evaluate suppliers, conducting market research, vendor assessments, and negotiations to establish long-term relationships and secure favorable terms and pricing agreements.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders, including project managers, engineers, and finance teams, to understand project requirements, specifications, and timelines, and to ensure alignment of procurement activities with project objectives.
  • Monitor and analyze procurement metrics and key performance indicators (KPIs), identifying opportunities for process improvements, cost savings, and efficiency gains, and implementing initiatives to drive continuous improvement.
  • Establish and maintain effective communication channels with suppliers and internal stakeholders, addressing any issues or concerns related to quality, delivery, pricing, or contract terms, and implementing corrective actions as needed.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures, as well as relevant regulations and standards, in all procurement activities, maintaining accurate and up-to-date records of procurement transactions, contracts, and vendor communications.
  • Stay informed of market trends, industry developments, and emerging technologies, and leverage this knowledge to identify opportunities for innovation and optimization in procurement processes and practices.

Qualifications:

  • Graduate with a minimum of 7 years experience preferably in the construction industry.
  • Strong leadership and management skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate teams to achieve departmental goals and objectives.
  • Excellent negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain relationships with suppliers and internal stakeholders.
  • Proficiency in procurement software, ERP systems, and Microsoft Office suite.
  • Strategic thinker with strong analytical skills and the ability to translate data and insights into actionable strategies and initiatives.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities and the ability to make sound decisions under pressure to address procurement challenges and opportunities.
  • Knowledge of procurement best practices, contract management, and supply chain management principles.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a proactive approach to driving results and achieving success in procurement activities.
