The Quality Control Head is responsible for overseeing the quality assurance and quality control processes in construction projects. This role involves developing, implementing, and maintaining a quality management system to ensure that construction activities comply with industry standards, regulations, and client requirements.
Job Description:
- Develop, implement, and maintain the QMS to ensure compliance with industry standards, regulations, and client specifications.
- Establish quality objectives, policies, and procedures.
- Supervise and coordinate inspection and testing activities to ensure materials, structures, and construction activities meet quality standards.
- Conduct regular site inspections and audits to monitor compliance with quality
- Maintain accurate and detailed records of inspection results, non-conformance reports, and corrective actions.
- Prepare quality reports and presentations for management and clients.
- Identify, document, and manage non- conformances.
- Develop and implement corrective and preventive action plans to address quality issues.
- Train and mentor staff on quality standards, procedures, and best practices.
- Promote a culture of continuous improvement and quality awareness within the organization.
- Evaluate and approve suppliers and subcontractors based on their quality performance.
- Monitor and assess the quality of work performed by subcontractors.
- Ensure that construction activities comply with relevant building codes, safety regulations, and environmental standards.
- Stay updated on industry standards, regulations, and best practices..
- Communicate effectively with clients regarding quality issues, concerns, and progress.
- Ensure client satisfaction by delivering high-quality construction projects.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field. A Master’s degree is a plus.
- Professional certifications such as Certified Quality Engineer (CQE), Project Management Professional (PMP), or similar are advantageous.
- Minimum of 15 years of experience in quality control/assurance in the construction industry.
- Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials, and regulations.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- Strong leadership and team management abilities.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
