The MEP Manager is responsible for overseeing the Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing aspects of construction projects. This role involves managing the design, installation, and commissioning of MEP systems, ensuring that all works are completed in accordance with project specifications, timelines, and budgets. The MEP Manager coordinates between various stakeholders, including contractors, engineers, and architects, to ensure that all MEP services are integrated seamlessly into the overall construction project.
Job Description:
- Develop and manage detailed project plans for MEP systems, including timelines, budgets, and resource allocation.
- Coordinate with architects, structural engineers, and other stakeholders to integrate MEP systems into the overall project design.
- Review and approve MEP drawings, specifications, and calculations to ensure compliance with design requirements and building codes.
- Oversee the design and engineering of mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems, ensuring they meet project requirements.
- Provide technical guidance and support to the MEP team, including reviewing designs and ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations.
- Ensure the MEP design aligns with the architectural and structural plans.
- Manage the procurement process for MEP equipment and materials, including preparing specifications, evaluating bids, and selecting vendors.
- Negotiate contracts with MEP subcontractors and suppliers, ensuring cost-effectiveness and quality.
- Monitor and manage the performance of subcontractors and suppliers to ensure timely delivery and installation of MEP systems.
- Supervise the installation and commissioning of MEP systems on-site, ensuring work is completed according to specifications and schedules.
- Conduct regular site inspections to ensure the quality and safety of MEP installations.
- Resolve any technical issues or conflicts that arise during construction, coordinating with other disciplines as necessary.
- Implement quality control procedures to ensure all MEP works meet the required standards and specifications.
- Ensure compliance with local building codes, safety regulations, and environmental standards for all MEP installations.
- Conduct inspections and testing of MEP systems to ensure they are fully operational and meet project requirements.
- Coordinate with the project management team to ensure smooth integration of MEP systems with other construction activities.
- Facilitate communication between MEP engineers and contractors.
- Provide regular updates to the project management team on the progress of MEP works, including any issues or risks.
- Monitor and control the MEP budget, ensuring that costs are kept within approved limits.
- Identify and implement cost-saving measures without compromising on quality or safety.
- Prepare and submit financial reports related to MEP works, including cost forecasts and budget variances.
- Ensure that all MEP activities comply with health and safety regulations.
- Implement safety procedures and conduct safety inspections to prevent accidents and injuries on-site.
- Promote a culture of safety within the MEP team and among subcontractors.
Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
- Experience: 10 to 15 yrs years of experience in MEP management, with a strong background in construction projects.
