The Planning Engineer is responsible for the effective planning, scheduling, and coordination of all project activities. This role involves creating detailed project plans, monitoring progress, identifying potential delays, and implementing corrective actions to ensure project deadlines are met. The Planning Engineer works closely with project managers, site engineers, and other stakeholders to optimize resource allocation and enhance project efficiency.

Job Description:

Project Planning & Scheduling: Develop detailed project plans and schedules, including timelines, milestones, and resource allocation.

Progress Monitoring: Track project progress against the plan, identify variances, and prepare reports for management.

Risk Management: Identify potential risks that could impact the project timeline or budget and propose mitigation strategies.

Resource Allocation: Optimize the use of resources, including labor, materials, and equipment, to ensure project efficiency.

Coordination & Communication: Work closely with project managers, site engineers, contractors, and other stakeholders to ensure alignment and smooth project execution.

Reporting: Prepare and present detailed project reports, including progress updates, schedule forecasts, and cost analysis.

Software Proficiency: Utilize project management software (e.g., Primavera P6, MS Project) for scheduling, tracking, and reporting.

Change Management: Manage changes to the project scope, schedule, and costs, ensuring all changes are documented and communicated.

Compliance & Quality Assurance: Ensure that the project meets industry standards, regulations, and quality expectations.

Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
  • Experience: 5 to 7 years of experience in project planning, scheduling, or a related role in the construction or engineering industry.
